We support both our parish Veterans and local Veterans in a variety of ways. Every year in December, and with the support of Sacred Heart Church’s PREP Class Students, we hold a Canned Goods Drive for Reading’s ‘The Veterans Making a Difference Organization’. The food staples collected during this event helps to restock the Food Pantry maintained by Veterans Making a Difference. We also hold a breakfast for these Veterans and generally serve about 40 individuals.
Sacred Heart School students also participate in writing Christmas Cards to our Active Military during the Christmas Season.
During the year we pay for the flower arrangements for both the Tabernacle and Altar at both Holy Rosary Church and Sacred Heart Church for Memorial Day, Patriot Day, and Veteran’s Day. The Red, White, and Blue arrangements honor both living and deceased members of our parish military.
